What Was your Hometown While You Were At Northfield Or Mt Hermon?
Chesterfield MA
Most memorable N/MH experience/s: could be "feasting" on Saturday nights after lights out and/or sneaking out of the dorm or something like the thunder and lightning at Christmas Vespers or a significant athletic triumph. What do you remember that brings a big smile to your face?:
After graduating from Mount Hermon I attended Westfield State College where I met my wife in the concert choir. We got married right after graduation and started teaching. We both attended the University of Hartford where we received our Masters in Education.
While at Mount Hermon I enjoyed working on stage crew where I made some wonderful friends.
My senior year at Mount Hermon I worked on campus crew and use to enjoy driving the trucks because I had a Mass driver's license.
Think about the highlights of your life since you left the hallowed halls of Northfield/Mount Hermon…tell us about yourself. Please write as much as you wish:
I have been retired for 5 years after teaching in the Simsbury CT school system. My wife also taught in the school system and then retired to raise our children. When our youngest was in school, she then became director of our church nursery school. We remain active in our local church singing in the choir and serving on various committees. We also volunteer at our local library and enjoy spending time with our twin granddaughters who are 7 and enjoy ballet and piano.
After getting married in 1968 we moved to Granby CT. Then we built the house we currently live in 1974 in East Granby CT, a small rural town of about 4000 half way between Hartford CT and Springfield MA.
