Miss Lindsley in PSSC Physics: my first introduction to learning "to think outside the box" and explore "the road less traveled."
Miss Powell: she taught me an appreciation of history.
Mrs. Bamford, House Instructor: She would take several of us on day trips and out to dinner in Amherst to "get away" from campus.

Think about the highlights of your life since you left the hallowed halls of Northfield/Mount Hermon…tell us about yourself. Please write as much as you wish:

I earned my BS in medical technology from Kansas State Univ. This is where I met Dick who was earning his degree in Agriculture. We moved to Groveland, MA and Dick taught agriculture. After eight years and the birth of our three children, we moved to central NY and bought a dairy farm. We operated this family farm for 12 years. I then I returned to school and earned my Master's in Social Work from Syracuse Univ. Dick returned to teaching forestry, natural resources. Our children are married and live in NY. We love living on our 200 acre farm with two horses, two cats, and three dogs. This will be our "nursing home.
We moved to Valatie, NY in 2019 to be near our son and family. Our daughter and son-in-law bought our farm so it is still in the family. She is a pharmacist.

(FOR EXTRA POINTS) : Tell us how the friends/education/lifestyle/traditions of the Northfield Schools impacted your life in 1964 and through the last several decades:

My roommate, Elizabeth Saunders, is my close friend today and I visited her at her home in France in 2011. I am still in contact with several Northfield friends after all these years.
